Application of aramid fibers in optoelectronic cables

Aramid fiber is an organic fiber with the best comprehensive performance, which is very suitable as a reinforcing material for optoelectronic cables.

① Whether it is a single or dual core flexible optical cable, a long haul optical cable, or a micro optoelectronic hybrid cable, high-strength, high modulus, and flexible aramid fiber is used as the reinforcing element. The aramid fiber can fully contact the optical fiber, buffer external stress, protect the optical fiber, and fully meet the mechanical protection, flame retardant, environmental protection, and environmental resistance requirements of the optical cable for the reinforcing element.

Cabling optical cables are an important type of optical cable. The cable core is made up of 6 to 24 tightly sheathed optical fibers twisted in a single or double layer, and then extruded with a sheath. The diameter of the tightly sheathed optical fibers used is 0.9 mm or 0.6 mm, and the fiber density in the cable core is relatively high.

The use of aramid fibers as reinforcement elements in wiring optical cables can simultaneously provide insulation, buffering, and strengthening effects.
